The New Zealand Loan and Alercanlilo Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from the London office under date 2nd inst :—The sales closed firmly to-dnv. America i.s buying suitable lots of merino. As compared with last-sale’s closing rales prices are 10 per cent, higher lor crossbred lambs, medium and fine crossbred slipe, medium scoured crossbred 5 15 to 20 per cent higher for greasy merino; 10 to 15 per cent, higher for medium greasy crossbred, merino lambs, merino .scoured, fine crossbred scoured; 5 to 7$ per cent, higher for coarse crossbred; 15 per cent-, higher for fine greasy crossbred. Average 'current London values of the undernoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wools: Good merino 20d, medium merino 17J,d, inferior merino 14d, line crossbred 16d, medium crossbred 9d, coarse crossbred (4'J’s)-6sd, coarse crossbred (36’s) 6d, medium crossbred' slipe 9J,d, coarse crossbred slipe Od, medium crossbred slipe (lambs) lOJpl, coarse crossbred slipe (lambs.) Bid, seedy Id to 3d' less. - 1 Messrs Williams and Keltic, Ltd., have received from their London aecut's I lie following cabled report of the close of the January wool sales: —“London, February 2.—Market closed steady at the following prices, especially for medium to coarse, crossbreds, and coarse crossbreds. Fifty-sixes, super 181,(1, medium 16^(1,'inferior Rid; 50’s, super 14d, medium 12d, inferior 10Jd; 46's, super 10-Jid, medium 9d, inferior BJ,d ; 44's, super Bid, medium 7%d, inferior 7-,ld; 40’s, super 7,'d, medium 7d. inferior 6d ; 36’s, 61,d, 61C s§d.”
