The Daily Telegraph, on high authority, states that Sir Eric Geddes' Economy Committee intends to recommend the reduction of the- naval personnel by 35,000 officers and men. The Telegraph declares the decision will cause consternation throughout the Dominion, in view of the reductions the Admiralty already made under constant Treasury pressure. ' The journal states that the present personnel isi sufficient to adequately man the small effective fleet retainable under the Washington agreement. A further reduction will expose the country and her seaborne commerce to the gravest risks.
