The Customs Conference agreed upon a form of certificate of origin of invoice values, subject to reference to the Dominions. It also recommended the extension of the Commonwealth Customs representation now existing between Britain and America to France and Italy, possibly Switzerland. At a Labor party dinner to Mr Storey (Premier of New South Wales), Mr Clvnes (Parliamentary Labor leader) presiding, said be was hopeful that in the near future the Labor party would succeed to power in Britain. The temper of the people seemed to have altered, as evidenced by the result of the recent three by-elections. They were apparently becoming distrustful of Mr Lloyd George. i
