ROYAL TOMB REMOVED

PARIS, March 1. In order to provide space for a memorial for the priests of the diocese who fell in the Great War the tomb of Queen Berengaria, consort of Richard Coeur do Lion, has been moved in the cathedral at Le Maus, where it has remained undisturbed for nearly 700 years. Thd? reinterment ceremonies were imposing. An organist played the British National Anthem. The tomb was heaped with violets gathered at Queen Berengaria’s Epau estate, and bound with tri-color ribbons, with an inscription commemorating both the great crusaders of the Queen and France’s victims in the Holy Crusade, 1914-18.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
