Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale of hides I and tallow at Wellington on the loth Inst, as follows: We submitted 1084 hides at our sale to-day to a good attendance of buyers, with fairly keen competition, prices were inclined to be easier, egpe- . daily for heavier sorts of hides. Medium and light cow occasionlly reached last 1 sale's figures, and light weight ox was somewhat m advance of last sale's prices. There was a fair demand for tallow at slightly lower figures than at last sale. The range of prices for hides sold was: I Ox, heavy, i3Jd to 18|dj medhim, l3ld to 16|4; Ugiit, tod to t.iij cut and slippy, 5.d to n.d; , cow, medium apd heavy, 10Jd to 14d; light. iad to ltd; cut and . slippy. sjd to lid; yearling and k'p, heavy. 9id to led; light, I2d to Is|d; cut and slippy, 2d to lOd; calf, medium ana ligHt, Hid to Old; heavy; l2d to I 8d { cut and slippy. !}d to Mid; bull stag, 4d to Did: Itorse, 3s to »7s <$d :each. Tallow, tn casks, SBt to 50s: In tins, gfls to 40s cd.
