" DELIVERY " OF LIQUOR.
MASTERTON, last night. I An important decision affecting nolicense areas was delivered m the Supreme Court to-day by his Honor Mr. J list ice Edwards. In the Magistrate's Court- Thomas Crass was fined £26 for brunging into a no-license district a parcel^contaiuing liquor without such parcel being properly labelled. Crass had pigned an order for the liquor, but no label was affixed to the parcel, as it was being taken to Grass's home for -his own use. Tlie Magistrate held that the parcel had been "delivered'" within the ■meaning of the Act, and should have a label affixed. Mr. Justice Edwards reversed this decision on appeal and quashed the conviction, holding that the word "delivered" m the Licensing Act meant the transfer from one person fo another. — Press Assn.
