EXPLOSIVE MANURE.
COLOGNE, April 28.— A strange explosion has occurred at Stolberg, near Aix-la-Chapelle. Two waggon-loads of artificial manure which were being unloaded at tho railway station suddenly blew up, and station and all the surrounding buildings were seriously damaged. Seventeen persons were killed and a great number injured. The whole of the surrounding district has been evacuated owing to tho danger of the buildings collapsing. It is supposed that the manure was made from old ammunition which,' through careless treatment, was insufficiently neutralised.
