HYDRO-ELECTRIC COMPANY.
The statutory, meeting of the HydroElectric Engineering Company, Ltd., was held at the Farmers' Union offices this afternoon. There was an attendance of about 30 shareholders. Tlie chairman o£ the provisional board of directors (Mr. C. A. deLautour) explained that the provisional directorate went out of office at the statutory meeting, and he asked the meeting to appoint a chairman of the meeting. Mr. C. A. deLautour was unanimously elected to tho chair. A motion was passed that tho directorate should comprise nine members. The nominations totalling eleven, thevote of the meeting resulted m the election of the following candidates to the board of directors: Messrs. C. A. deLautour, T. J. Adair, M. B. Mander, T. E. Toneycliffe, W. Clark, C. H. Elliot*,; F. Hall, F. J. Lysnar, and G. M. Reynolds. Mr. H. E. Dodd was unanimously elected auditor to the company. The remuneration was fixed at 50 guineas per annum. While awaiting the result of the election of the board of directors, the meeting was opened for discussion of any matters concerning and relating to the formation ot the company, or arising out of the statutory report. No discussion ensued. On the announcement of the election of the members of the directorate, Mr. J. It. Kirk moved a vote of thanks to Mr. C. A. deLautour, who, he said, commanded the gratitude of the shareholders. He was sure that Avith Mr. deLautour at the head of the concern, Ihey would have a company which would' be a credit to the district. (Applause.)
