In tho House of Commons, in' reply to a question-, Austen Chamberlain said that France's net war debt to Britain would probably be under £500,000,000; No definite arrangement has been reached m regard to the payment of the debt. The British and French Governments h'adi agreed that payment of Germany's reparation must be m the terms of the Treaty, namely, the cost of the army of occupation first, and. any sums allowed to Germany for food and raw material next, but there would be no question of priority among the Allies m regard to the distribution of sums available m payment and reparation.
