Tlie performance rendered by tbe' Te Koas iu the Opera Hoiise last liiglit was attended by a very large crowd, and was greatly enjoyed. It was of a similar type to that of the Dandies, except that thus concert troupe was given a distinclive touch by the number ■ of returned soldiers in the company. The proceedings went throughout with a pleasing suing, and there was not one dull moment the whole evening. Any deficiency thore might have been in the standard of some of the items was fully made up by the rich vein qf clever and wholesome wit which ran throughout the whole programme, and which caused spontaneous laughter , from the house almost continuously. Wally Edwards appeared dressed in female attire, and notwithstanding his somewhat freakish "build," had members of the audience thinking for a time as to bis sex. However, this was disclosed in his singing of "Sergeant Brown." Vic. Elliott has. a pleasing tenor voice, and was heard to good effect iu "Fiona" and "I Hear You C.-.lling Me." He received an enthusias tic reception. Miss Tui Hillyer has a distinctly pleasing voice, with clear articulation and enunciation. Her renditions of "Romance" and "Till We Mee' Attain." were received with great enthu siasm. Les Walton displayed distinct -l'Mity- in his musical monologue, entitled "The* Shooting of Dan McGrey," which was a heaVy item cleverly rendered. Hi; encore item was "Romeo and Juilet," fi< m the "Sentimental Bloke." and Waltor. gave a clever and effective imperso lation of the character in this popular be >k. Stan. Pritchard has a baritone vo'ce of good resonance and clearness. His words can be distinctly understood ird are easily followed, thereby increasing the effect of the item. His son^fi last night were "The Aviator" and "The Bliid Ploughman." Owen Pritchard is humorist of no mean ability, and his items last night revealed his versatility. "Ballads in Ragtime." in. which such compositions as "Alice Where Art Thou" were dished up in the modern ragtime form, made a very pleasing item. His encore item "Whoops" was received enthusiastically. Charlie King kept up the interest of the audience with his ragMnifl numbers, which were given in good style. These comprised "I'm all Bounr 1 Round with the Mason Dixie Line" and "Alexander's Back from Dixie with his R'Utime Band." A sketch entitled "The Coster's Outing," provided much mirth. Ths> second part was taken up by a nove! litt'e sketch "Where Did That One Go?" Messrs Owen Pritchard, Keith Firth, Les Walton, W. Edwards, as the representative soldiers, provoking much merriment with their respective sallies and a song aiid dance thrown in iust at the right moment. Tlie season.
