'liv' Department tif Internal ■ AQ:iirs., m n eireiuir letter, intimated that owing to the declaration of peace, and that consequently all permits to raise moneys except by patriotic societies empowered to grant re-.ief »and assistance had been revoked, the postal concession hitherto <:, lowed many of such societies would he wkhdra-wn as from July 31, and from August 1 the concessions would be limited and the official correspondence of societies incorporated under the War Funds ,>Act, 1915, and their branches, and to jsuch other societies as had been approved for jjraouting direct relief to soldiers and their dependents. — The Chairman .•uid the society still Jiad the. telegraphic communication.; — The letter was received. Messrs. W. J. Sinclair and W. Webb were appointed to meet steamers, and .Messrs. F. E. Gadduon and C. A. Fenwick to visit the hospital. ■ Mr. G. W. Humphreys reported that he and Mr." H. Wiiite visited the hosjital and found the soldier inmates quite i.appy and contented. .Mr. J. V. Ciark asked if returned nurses were entitled to the same eons deration from the Claims Board as the returned soldiers, and the Chairman replied m the affirmative. , 'Mr. H. Jvemvay suggested that a letter be gent to Mi;. A. Fromm m recognition of his untiring action m despatchng papers to the front while the wax whs on. — Mr. D. J. Barry seconded, .and the motion was carried.— The secretary mentioned that a letter had been sent to Mr. Fromm some time ago, but it was decided to furnish him with another, m view of the great help he had given.
