RIO JANEIRO, July 2.—Demonstrations by the populace of Rio Janeiro to-day tlefea,tad,> an effort by the pro pfretors of coffee houses to double the prfce of the national drink, coffee. Patrons entered the cafes, took the coffee and then refused to pay more thsn the old price of 100 reis (normally five cents) for a small cup.
