POVERTY BAY CLUB. Considerable interest was taken in the. vowing contests last evening, whon the first heat of the Le Grande ' Fours for trophies presented by Mv Charles "Ferguson was rowed, R. Patty (str), E. Warren, E. Duncan, and J. McKay boat L. Walters Evans, ,7. Bishop, and R. Thompson. Patty gained the lead at the start, and won bv a quarter of a length. c Lloyd (str). B. Martin, A. Coleman, and 11. Wethcrly beat S. Ledger (str). W. Fitzmauvico, J. Mahoney, and L. Dew. The crews got away together, and at -the William Pettie bridge Lloyd drew ahead and won by a length. H. Swan (str), P. Duncan, Dr. Gunn, and M. Burt beat G. McLaughlan (str.), C. Corbett, .T. CocKburn, and 0. Fisher. The crews raced together, hut nearlng Kaiti hri/lge Swan drew ahead and won by half a length. To-night the following will compete: .7. Rangihika (str), J. Mackey, Rongaria, .7. Count, v. W.
