Fine weather prevailed, and there was a representative attendance from all the northern counties, but an absence of southern buyers. Competition was good, especially for tho bettei* quality sheep, and in- all 3942 passed through the sale ring. Stud ewes brought from 1_ to 9i} guineas, the latter price being pa'd for a pen of ten purchased by Mr Luke Webb, of Helena Bay. Mr H. S. Ludbrook, Ohaeawai, also secured ten nt 83 guineas, Mr Geo. Appleton, Waimate North, ten at 8i guineas, Mr A. E. Harding. Mangawhar§, ten at 8 guineas. Ihe highest price realised for stud ewe lambs was 4 guineas, purchased by 'Mr Gea Appleton. Stud rams so'd from 7 to '41 guineas, the latter pr'ce being paid by Mr William Alison, of Parakao, for a particularly good type. 2-shear. Other prices were : 32£ guineas bv Mr E. Panther, Kaitaia ; 31 guineas, \tr H. S. Ludbrodk. Ohaeawai; 22J guineas, Mr H. Matthews, Kaitaia ; 20^ guineas. Mr N. Irving, Whangape ; and 19 guineas, Mr Jos. H. Sloane, Pukehuia.
