PATRIOTIC ENTERTAINMENT.
A. unique and very entertaining programme is promised for to-morrow evening's entertainment m aid of the Defence Committee's patriotic funds. Hakas •m d pois require no description; suffice it to say that those who have seen a liaka or a poi are always anxious to see one again, and for those who have not seen either, tho opportunity should not be missed. A peruperu or war dance is not always given, and so far as is known has not been given m this district for years, and everybody should make a point of seeing it. When one htm seen it he' can then better imagine ho\y the Turks on Gallipoli felt iwhen the haka of defiance was sprung on, them m the middle of the nioht on that memorable evening of the 6tlb August. 1915. The haka has been recorded m the history of GnllipolL and is now being reoordod on the battlefields of France. With reference to the other ■terns, modern hakas and choruses are well worth seeing and hearing. Insofar •is- the vocal items are concerned such items as "Inter Nos" and "Gipsy Duet from II Trovatore" are m themselves worth going* to hoar. A real treat is. nroinised and patrons are urged to book the-ir seats early. The box^ plan is at Miller's.
