AUCKLAND, this day. Mr Massey has wired to the Chairman i>f the Board of Education, Mr Garland: "Htiv© just seen the report of a meeting regarding Mayo. Please wire me wnether you voted m favor, of a motion to retain his services." Mr Garland replied: "Was absent from the meeting, addressing- . primary schools re Anzac Day. Much /distressed at what happened. Am giving notice of motion, to rescind the minute for the purpose of moving a resolution to dismiss Mayo." Mayo was recently fined for ,a disloyal utterance.
