TRENCH SYSTEM TAKEN TO THE
SOUTH OF OPPY
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Reuter's Telegram.) LONDON, April 30. Sir Douglas Haig reports: — Wo captured a trench system south of Oppy on a mile of front after heavy fighting and a stubborn resistance. There were several unsuccessful coun-ter-attacks. We took 976 prisoners.
