GRUESOME GERMAN ADVERTISEMENT.
PARIS, March 12. The Journal says that the technical paper, the Chemicher Zeitung, published on November 18, 1916, the following advertisement: "The Elckbolsheiih Thermo-chemical Co., Sfcrasburg. On account of the departure of our manager, we require an engineer, free from, military obligations, to direct, technically and commercially, our factory for the destruction of dead bodies." Tho name of the factory leaves no doubt respecting the nature of the work carried on in, this theanmo-chemioal factory, which comprises the chemical treatment and utilisation of dead' bodies. •
The statement in the Lausanne Gazette made by the American Consul who left Germany at the same time as Mr Gerard fully confirms this. The enemy is reduced to extremitieH in order to obtain explosives.
