Sir Douglas Haig reports : The enemy unsuccessfully .attacked at night northwest of >St. Quenti n and was driven off after sharp fighting. We captured the quarries on the eastern outskirts of Hargicourt. The enemy hurriedly fled. We captured important positions m the neighboi*hood of the Arras-Cambrai road and a spur between Roeux and Gavrelle.
