BIG FIRE IN AMERICA.
(Reuter's Telegram.) (Received February 12, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, February 11. The machine shop of the Union Switch Signal Company, the largest plant for manufacturing switch (signals iii the United States, recently engaged on European munition orders, has been destroyed by fire. The damage is eight hundred thousand pounds sterlinjg. The fire is bolieyed to have occurred through spontai>sou» combustion. Frozenpipes prevented the water supply being used for half an hour. Two thousand shells were destroyed.
