FROM NEW ZEALAND TO FRANCE. The journey of the Tenth Reinforcements from the Antipodes to the French fighting -front is recounted m an interesting way by Bombardier Roy Coad, formerly of the Ninth Company, N.Z. G.A., Wellington, and iioav of the Tenth Antillery Details. Writing to Lieut. Martyn Roberts, of Palmerston, the Bombardier says.: — With the exception of that portion of our 1 journey m Australian Avaters, tho Tenths had a good trip. After leaving Albany we had the sea. as calm as a mill pond up to Port fSaid. It Avas a sunny trip pver sunny seas. Flying fish Avero about m shoals, and as our boat ploughed through the water at night tlio frothy swell Avhich Aye made was alight with phosphorescent gleam 3, as was also the starry sky. It Avas a great trip. In the tropics we Avere kept reasonably cool by the trade Avinds, and up the torrid Red Sea we Avere treated- to a breeze as cool ; and at times as virile as a Wellington southerly. Of course, avo called at , \ Colombo, but as little leave as possible /Avaa granted to the men. Australians Avere at Colombo also, and Aye greeted ! each other Avith enthusiasm.
