THE TRENCH FRONT.

Our reconnaissances northward of the Ainse penetrated the trenches at Vailly. Some prisoners, were taken. There were local actions at Chappellesteffe. Our total of prisoners m the past ten days was eight hundred. A German aeroplane bombed Luneville, wounding one. Lieut. Chiput downed his eighth German aeroplane at Fresnes-en-Woevre. Our aviators dropped eight bombs on the station of Couflans, forty on the barracks' at Vigneulles, and twenty-five on an aerodrome at Dieuze.
