INCREASED FREIGHT CHARGES
(I'er Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. With reference to the Dumsdiii telegram about shipping freight, it is stated that, .is Ifrom Monday last, an increase of Is 6d per ton" operates on general cargo carried by the sma!l coastal vessels trading between We.'lington and. Patea. So far no definite increass has been deci<led upon by the owners '»f oth^r smaller coasters trading out of Wellington, but it is generally considered that a- rise is almost inevitable.'
