SATISFACTORY RECRUITING IN AUCKLAND.

Satisfactory recruiting m Auckland district is evident from the fact that for the past week 1005 men passed aa fit m four groups, an inci'eaae of 111 men upon the previous week. During the week under review 386 men enlisted for the infantry and i_-_ for the mounted rifles, as compared with 425 a.nd 124 respectively for the previous week. It is significant, however, that m spite of the statement of tho officer m charge of Auckland district that fewer men were required for the ambulance and army service corps, both of which arms are already fully stocked. 111 mqn signed on m favor of the ambulance and 73 for transport service.
