ATTEMPT TO PARALYSE RUSSIA.
GERMANS STAKING EVERYTHIN "}. ENEMY'S LOSSES HAVE BEEN COLOSSAL. (Received June 23, 8.10 a.m.) PETROGRAD, June 22. Further units from Belgium have reached Galicia, supporting the theory; tiiat Germany is staking everything on an attempt to paralyse the Russians, and so be free to deal with the general Anglo-French advance. Germany's losses m Galicia have been colossal, but an inexhaustible stream of soldiers is kept up. Some experts estimate that at leaatJ one-third of the German force m the, west has been transferred to Galicia. They remind the public that Anstrians have devoted many years to adaptiftg; the Lemberg region to serve the eastern" advance against Russia, not for purposes of defence ; consequently the roads leading to the city are within tho zone of the enemy's artillery. Lemberg, therefore, has forfeited its importance as a centre of military supplies.
