The Women's Patriotic Committee have despatched two more oosos by tonight's ateamer for the Hospital ship. Two wises wort- sent by Sundays steamer, and the total contents of the four cases are as follows: Pillows 15, blankets 84, quilts 11, pillow-slips,. 13 dozen, sheets 8 dozen, surgical towels 4| dozen, pyjamas 7| dozen and 1 dozen, bed- jackets 4£' dozen and 1 dozen, helpless jackets 6, nightingales 4 1-3 dozen, hot-water, bottles 4, socks 15.1-3 dozen, cotton wool 16 bundles, .bandages.'handkerchiefs 18 dozen, old linen, nightshix'ts 5 dozen, dressing gowns- "5, ■ under blanket 1, face towels 1' dozen, 1 bedroooi slippers 2 dozen, bed socks 1 dozen, toile^ towels 3 dozen, fa.cc ' cloths 1 dozen, felt slippers 10 pairs, cushion ];■ cigarettes and tobacco., undershirts 2. The committeo are enquiring mattresses will be sent m addition to those provided by the firm: equipping the Hospital ship, and until the answer comes from Government House, they would be glad if ' contributions would take the form of- those- articles named m • Lord Liverpool's latest lists. . The response has been most generous: and gifts arc still coming m m great numbers.

The Women's Patriotic Committee havo also despatched to. the Lady Liverpool Sock Fuiid n case of 21 dozen pairs of socks. These, it will bo remembered, go to the New Zealanders on active service. All the socks have been Avashed, boracic powder has been sifted into. the sole.s, and each pair contains a pair of boot laces. This makes a total of 1430 pairs sent up to the present, and m addition to this, two pairs to every Gisborne mart at Trentham.
