RUSSIA'S QUIET CONFIDENCE.
AND SIMPLE INHERENT GOODNESS.
London Times and Syfiney Sun Services.) (Received Feb. 6, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 5. A correspondent in Russian headquarters points out two outstanding things — the immensity of the sacrifices asked and cheerfully made by Russia, ind her sense of quiet confidence in the ultimate *> result. It must vnot be forgotten that .Russia has had to deal practically with all forces, Austria and Turkey, aa well as the ever-increasing I proportion of the forces of Germany, but she is going steadily through with her work. One of the greatest things the war is doing is the revelation to Europe of the simple goodness of the Russian peasant and the qualities of the Russian people. They are going to take their proper place among t/he best factors in future European civilisation.
