NEW ZEALAND TROTTING CUP

CiriUSTG'HCRL'M, this' day. At a meeting of the committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club it was decided to increase the New Zealand Cup to be run iv November next from £2000 to £2500, divided as under: First horse £1500, second horse £500, third horse £300, and fourth horse £200. The race is conlined to horses that have done 4.33 for two miles m a race at a meeting recognised by the New Zealand Trotting Association. This addition of £500 will mako this year's' race the most valuable yet competed for m New Zealand. The stakes for other events at the November meeting are to be increased by £1500. so that the total to be giveu for the three days will be £10,040, as compared with "£BO4O last year. The programme for thej August meeting was also considered, and it was decided to give an additional £1000, ; making the total for the nieefong £5000/
