EIGHTEEN HOURS AFLOAT.
LN SHARK-LNFESTED WATERS. - FREMANTLE, May 22. When the R.M.S. Marmora, which arrived on Tuesday morning, was between Aden and Colombo, a molt remarkable incident was ' recorded at dawn on May 6. The officer of the watch heard shouting m the water, and the engines were at once reversed, and lifebuoys thrown into the water. Some time later the officers heard more shouting, and the starboard lifeboat was lowered. The boat returned a few minutes later with a native Indian, who explained that he had been swimming m the water for 18 hours. «. According to the man's story he had, been a trimmer on" the steamer Beggolia, and on the previous day, while emptying ashes, had flipped through the shute into the sea.
