EATANSWILL CONTEST.
LONDON, May 18. : The Ipswich by-election campaign is being conducted something after the manner of the famous contest m Dickens' Eatanswill, which, by a .coincidence, is supposed to have been Ipswich. The Buffs and the Blues, m some cases, havo been .enforcing their political arguments with whacks on the head and punches m the eye. A number of suffragettes, who announced their intention of taking a prominent part m "the election, have been forced to flee for their lives whenever they appeared.
