APPEAL AND REPLY

,- DUNEDIN, this day. The unemployed difficulty was brought l under, the notice of the Minister of Public Works by Mr Sidey, M.P., who pointed out that the men were willing to go to the country to any railway or other work. The Hon. Mr Fraser replied that the District Engineer at Dunedin had instructions to find work for such employed as the Labor Department 'recommended. When the member for Dunedin South appealed to the District Engineer's offices he was informed that no such instructions as mentioned by the Minister had yet been received.
