(Per Press Association.) J AUCKLAND, this day. ! The Australians resumed their first innings at 11.25 this morning, Mailey •and Layer going to the wicket. Suedden opened the bowling, with singles to. Mailey coining off the over. Clarke? bowled at the railway end and a. couple! of singles resulted off this first over. In Snedden's next over Layer went out to hit but missed and the ball coming back off Tattersall's pads, he retired, stumped— 6sß— 9— s. C. McGregor, the last man, played out the over.
