LABOR CONFERENCE.

At the Labor Conference Mr Cullinan moved the suspension of the standing orders with the object of dealing with Mr Holman's recent New Zealand state-, ments. The conference, he said, was m danger of being dominated by paid servants. The motion was defeated without discussion. A motion m favor of the abolition of pensions to judges and others ' m high positions was adopted by 56 to 14. Motions m favor of quinquennial Parliaments, and that Ministers be not allowed to purchase on behalf of the State any business of a value of over £20,000 without the approval of the Labor caucus, was defeated.
