Great crowds remained throughout the night, parents seeking their children. Groups knelt on the pavement at intervals and prayed. ■'■•■, The rescue Avork was attended #ith much risk, and there were several narrow escapes. , ,-' Two of the rescuers had td be taken to the hospital. Three children on the opposite side of the street were crushed to death by V falling masonry. .'.; ' A youth named Salmon saved twpl cbil' dren and returned to save kis sister, but the roof collapsed, and both were killed.
All the missing are now accounted for.
