Because a Chinaman at Chicago married' a Avhite Avoman despite his neighbors' warnings, neighbors attacked the Chinaman and beat and stabbed him fatally. They also attempted to kill his AA-ife, Avho Avas found half dead. A white servant employed m the house escaped.
