The Corporation of Dublin resolved, at the Lord Mayor's instance, to demand a sworn inquiry into the conduct of the police. \
The Lord Mayor added that if the Government refused he would hold an inquiry;
Larkin has been remanded till Wed nesday.
Many of the Drogheda police have been summoned to Dublin to assist m the preservation of peace.
• The Trade Union Congres at Manchester unanimously adopted a resolution moved by Mr Sexton, delegate for the Liverpool dock workers, seconded by Mr Stanton, miners" delegate, emphatically condemning the Government for prohibiting meetings, also for tlie brutal ill treatment of citizens.
The resolution summoned Earl Aberdeen, Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, to reestablish the right of public meetings, and to institute rigid inquiry. Mr Sexton, m a speech, expressed indignation at such occurrences m a national city. He said the "black" of Mr Larkin, if it existed, was "white!" compared with Sir E. Carson's hellish blackness!" No disorder had followed Mr Larkin's words before free speech was stopped.
Mr Ben Tillet said that war had been declared on the workers, who must m future treat their opponents similarly.
