STORES AND STORIES.

LONDON, August 25. The affairs of Mr. -William le Queux, the well-known novelist, against whom a receiving order* was lately made at the instance of his wife, came before the Bankruptcy Court for investigation. Bankrupt's counsel informed the court that the Servian Government had asked Mr. le Queux to undertake the supply of army stores, but that the big deal did not eventuate, owing to official friction over the matter. The negotiations resulted m five months of Mr. le Queux's time being wasted, and during that period he was unable to do any literary work. It was further mentioned that a composition that had been offered by the uankrupt was under consideration. The meeting was declared closed.
