ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, List night. When Sergeant Manig«tn was on duty in Karangahape road last night' he was informed that a man named Alfred Hutchinson had cut ""his throat and was at his residence in We3t street. Upon arrival at the house the officer found- the raa.n lying on the verandah with a bloodjst.2ijned handkerchief tied round hus throat. Dr. Casement Aickin was called in and when he' had dressed some slight woanJj c;:i tho man's neck, liutchincou was taken to the -ockrup, where he ...was charged with attempted suicide. Hutchinson stated that he. had tried to cut his throat with a, tahle knife, and was sorry that he had not u?cd a razor. This morning accused was brought before Mr E. C. Cutten at the Police Court, but, upon the request of the police, was remanded I'm - a week for ■ medical treatment. '
