The team representing the Gisborne Mercantile Club, which: left last Sunday to play the Napier Mercantile team, arrived back this, morning, after having had a very enjoyable time. On Monday night a complimentary, dance was tendered to the Gisborne men. On Tuesday morning the team left by the early train for Cornwall Park, Hastings, where the Ilawke's Bay hockey tournament was' held. Twenty-seven teams took part, it being one of the largest tournaments yet held m Hawke's Bay: Great interest was taken m the Napier-Gisborne match, ; which was played at 2 p'qlock. TheNapfer captain, won the toss, and from the bully oft GJSbbrne took the ball down and looked like /scoring, but the Napier goalkeeper, "saved , just m time- 1 Good combination py the Napier forwards! enabled Phillips to score. After play! commenced again Gisborne had the mis-i fortune to lose their captain, who put his knee out and hail, to leave the field, j Even play followed, and from a penalty, corner Anderson shot a good, goal, and a few minutes later McCutchepn secured a goal.
