ACTIVITY OF BEEF INTERESTS. (Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright.) WASHINGTON, June 3. Every Senator ais being examined m regard to his private business m order to establish whether the lobbyists whom President Wilson denounced sought to* influence them against the Tariff Bill. The Senators denied that any one had attempted to bribe them ov to influence them m any direction. The beef interests have petitioned the Senate Firiance Committeej protesting against lowering the duty on meats, deqlaring that such an attempt to kill the Beef Trust' will more likely increase the trust's control of meat. The petitioners favored a 15 per cent, ad valorem duty on all meats, and livestocks m order to prevent decay of the industry.
