Freeman and Co., jewel merchants, .deposited a heavily-ironed box, valued at £4000, m a cloak room at King's Cross station, intending to place it on a train m the morning. During the evening a supposed district messenger asked that the box be removed to another cloak room, and secured a second ticket for it. At five o'clock m the morning a cab drove up. A man presented the second ticket. Porters lifted the box into the cab. When Freeman and Co. presented their ticket the theft was discovered. Five hundred pounds reword haß been offered.
