RECEPTION OF DOMESTICS.

(Per Press Association.)

DUNEDIN, last night. Several ladies connected with the Young Women's Christian Association waited upon the Hon. H. D. Bell today, for the purpose of inquiring as to what extent the Government proposed to depend upon the Dunedin Branch Hostel m connection with the immigration of domestics to Dunedin from Great Britain.

The Minister stated that the Government had no intention of overtaxing the accommodation of the rooms at any time, but would depend upon the ladies governing the institution to supply the Department with' the names of suitable perrons to whom newly-arrived domestics could be directed, so as to be certain of having good lodgings during the time they might have to await suitable engagements.
