CHRISTCHURCH, this day.

A man was arrested this morning, after 20 minutes' chase over fences, on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl during the Dunedin children's visit. The man scaled a house, raced across a roof, and jumped 15ft to the ground. The territorials and cadets paraded to-day at Hagley Park, and fired a royal salute. The troops marched past tlie flag, and saluted with the National Antheni and cheers. During the march through the city the troops were clieered, particularly the oadet bugle band. On parade there were 500 territorials and 369 cadets.

INVERCARGILL, this day. H.M.S. New Zealand arrived in the Straits at 9 this morning. The weather is showery, but calm. Steamers are running between the port and the warship, and are largely patronised. The influx pf visitors is a record for the Bluff.
