Investigation is being made into the statements of several "bunco steerers" now under arrest that eight members of the local police department were m collusion with them m their operations. A detailed charge has also been made by Michael Gallo — now serving a sentence at San Quentdn for larceny — that a police officer had ordered him. io be killed because he had declined to increase the share m the profits of a "bunco" deal which was, to go to the detectives.
