On behalf of the Mokau Goal and Estates Company, Ltd., five sections — Nos. 16, 3, 4, 5, and 18 — sold Tinder the hammer out of a total of twelve sections offered at prices ranging; from £3 to £4 an acre* , One section reached the reserve^-ah&tthaf. other four slightly passed it. . ,of, the sections did not readh tha rerorvil/ Which ranged from £2 5s to £53 10s per acre, and m qne instance £4. They were accordingly paaued in'for private .treaty. Some of these', 'since the sale, have been placed on offer, and inquiry is reported to be active for th© others. It ia anticipated' tliat the balance will be disposed' of at an early date.
