NEARLY UNANIMOUS FOR RUGBY.

A very enthusiastic meeting of intending footballers was held at Matawhero last evening. Mr Bissell was voted to the chair, and explained the nature oi 1 the meeting, as to whether they intended playing Rugby or Northern Union. On being put to the meeting the old game of Rugby was carried unanimously, 25 present handing m their names. ' The following officers were elected: Secretary, Mr B. Steggall; treasurer, Mr A. Lange; president, Mr R. H. Image; vice-presi-dents, Messrs Wilson, W. Millington, C. \yright, C. Johnstone, J. Law, W. Jones (senr.), W. F. Stephenson, W. Jobson, E. Bissell, M. deCosta, C. Lange, T. Goldsmith, E. Toole (senr.), J. Dunston; Mr T. A. Donnell was / elected delegate to the union; captain, Mr Campbell; vicecaptain, Mr Bartletts; selection committee, Messrs Campbell, Bartletts, J.- Jobson, E. Bissell, T. A. Donnell. Club's colors, black and white, white pants. Mr Bissell was unanimously elected coach to the team. ' A deputation from the Northern Union met the members of the club later m the evening, and a considerable discussion took place on Rugby v. Northern Union. Aftor the deputation had withdrawn the chairman again put it to the meeting, Rugby being carried practically unani- | mously. •
