STILL OUT OF GAOL.
MRS PANKHURST'S LICENSE. LONDON, April 28,
' The fact that the period for which Mrs ! Pankhurst was released on license expired to-day caused a, great gathering to assemble outside her house m anticipa- | tion of seeing the famous suffragette forcibly returned to gaol. The crowd, however, was disappointed, the authorities having decided to extend j the militant leader's license 'owing to the j unsatisfactory state of her health. It is declared that the house had been stocked with two months' provisions, the heavy street door barricaded, and the place otherwise prepared for a siege. The members of the family and a few other militants were said to be quartered oh the upper, floors, lea ving-. only the bare furniture on the two floors below; When Miss Sylvia Pankhurst motored away from the house this aiternoon she was loud I" hooted. The crowd tried to. rush her car, and police protection had to be sought. Finally the police cleared the square m which, the Pankhursts' home stands, and only householders 1 and their friends were allowed to,. cross, the line.
