Dabney has been declared insane and placed m confinement, , following the death of a patient, after an operation. ./Dr. Dabney, who is the most noted surgeon m Southern Ohio, has a; large practice, and has been especially proficient m women's troubles and .appendicitis. , r r . Tlie death of his most recent patient excited suspicion m- the minds of her relatives ' that all was not' right, and communications • were made - . to . the authorities. The surgeon who examined the dead woman confirmed these views, and the authorities immediately called on Dr. Dabney.. His maimer "■ was so peculiar, . aUd he became so violent m his denunciations . of any interference, that it was realised that, the surgeon was insane.
.Dr. _ Dabney has been performing operations at, the rate of forty a month, and from observations vwhieh now- have been made public, it. is believed that the surgeon . has been insane for more than a <year. All this-' time he has been using the, surgical t knife with rare skill, and his former patients are congratulating -themselves; that they have escaped the consequences of his mania.
