ALLAN HAMILTON'S SEASON.

The visit of Allan Hamilton's company, which commences a season at His Majesty's Theatre <on Monday evening, constitutes a theatrical event of unusual importance. Nothing better m the shape of theatrical fare could be wished for than. W. W. Jacob's merry farce, m three acts, entitled "Beauty and the Barge," which forms the opening bill on Mondayevening :— ,

" The Evening News (Sydney) says: People who had witnessed the first production m Sydney by the Brough-Flem-ins Comedy Company, of "Beauty and the Barge," very gladly welcomed its revival m Sydney on Saturday night, at the Palace Theatre, by the Allan Hamilton Company. The irresistible humor which has made W. W. Jacobs' novel so popular all over the. English-speaking world, is met here m the character of Captain James Barley m its most wholesome form. The Thames skipper, whose abundant affability and proneness to seize every opportunity to put himself on favdrable terms with ladies of various ages, gets him into so many difficult situations, is as refreshing to-day, as he was when he was first introduced to his admirers. That the'audience on Saturday night found him so was unmistakably shown, as it was good as a tonic to hear the genuine, hearty laughter that everybody, m the house indulged m during the three acts of the farce. After witnessing the performance, one could go home, and laugh at the remembrance, which is, a compliment hot always paid to comedy. The piece was prettily staged, Mr >rr«-?ry Whaite's scenery on the TTmmes being pleasing to look upon. On Tuesday evening Walter Howard's stirring drama of Indian life entitled., "Why Men Love Women," will be staged and a big revival of the popular comedy drama, "A Message From Mars" will bring the season to a close on Wednesday evening. Intending patrons should make a point of securing seats m advance at Miller's for these productions. •"
