FEILDING, this day. J. R. . MacLennan's Arapata estate, Waituna West, cut into eleven sections of 130 to 540 acres, was sold m Feilding yesterday afternoon. Nine sections sold for a total of £48,634' at an average of £16 per acre. Tlie remaining two sections are expected to be sold privately to-day. TIMARU, this day. The Levels County Council yesterday resolved to limit the loads drawn by tractions to fifteen tons, whether on two or three trucks, and wheel loads to scwt per 'inch of tyre width, including the weight of truck. Licensing committee contests take place at Temuka and Waitaki electorates. Timaru avoids one.
Tlie Hon. T. Mackenzie, when passing through yesterday, mentioned that he will probably return north next week, inland by Mount Cook car service from Queenstown. This will be a sort of official opening of the Queenstowii-Mount Cook line, though cars liave been running through the season with a satisfactory amount of patronage. Ihe chairman of the Mackenzie nnd Levels County Councils adversely comment on tine Local Government Bill, saying that there is too much to be done by the Board m Wellington and by Orders-in-Council
